The station’s market share is now at an all-time high of 8% with The Pat Kenny Show achieving record listenership of 216,000.
The latest JNLR results published today, 8th of February 2024, show continued growth for Newstalk in a strong radio market that has almost 3.8 million Irish adults tuning in every week.
As well as record weekly listenership and market share, Newstalk recorded its biggest ever daily audience with 480,000 listeners now tuning in every day.
All Primetime shows saw increases in audiences with The Pat Kenny Show leading the way achieving a record daily listenership of 216,000 – a 25% increase in the last 12 months. Sean Moncrieff also recorded an all-time high audience for his afternoon show which now reaches 115,000 listeners every day, up 5,000 in the last 3 months.
Newstalk Breakfast with Ciara Kelly and Shane Coleman and The Hard Shoulder with Kieran Cuddihy both saw increases in listenership with daily audiences now standing at of 149,000 (up 5,000) and 153,000 (up 6, 000) respectively. Lunchtime Live with Andrea Gilligan also saw 6,000 more listeners tuning in bringing the show’s total to 113,000 listeners daily.
Off The Ball continued to prove itself a destination for sport fans with the weekday evening show now enjoying a listenership of 50,000 every day and its weekend counterpart attracting audiences of 141,000 and 132,000 respectively on Saturday and Sunday.
Newstalk retained its commanding position in Dublin enjoying a market share of 12.1% in the capital and record weekly and daily listenership of 300,000 and 192,000 respectively in the capital.
