3.8million (3,862,000) of all adults are tuning into Irish radio each week, according to the latest JNLR results (October ’23 – September ’24),

Bauer Media Audio Ireland, with a portfolio of national, regional and local stations including Today FM, Newstalk, 98FM, SPIN1038, SPIN South West, Cork’s Red FM, iRadio and Beat is now the largest media radio group in Ireland,  entertaining a  weekly audience of 2.26million while its daily listenership stands at 1.51million.

Bauer Media Audio Ireland’s station portfolio now has an all adults prime-time Market Share of 29.2% rising to 44% for 25–44-year-olds.

This makes Bauer Media Audio Ireland the country’s largest radio group on all key audience metrics.

Today FM

Today FM delivered a strong set of results with a market share of 8.9% and a weekly reach of 973,000, representing a lift of 14,000 in the last year.

National favourite Ian Dempsey now commands the largest audience on Today FM with a listenership of 209,000. Meanwhile Ray Foley wins the afternoons with an audience boost to 169,000, an increase of 14,000 since the last results. 

Newstalk

Newstalk’s national market share at 8.5% is up .9% over the last 12 months while the station’s weekly reach performed strongly at 861,000, up 39,000. Newstalk also retains its status as the second most listened to radio station in the country with 508,000 listeners daily, up 42,000 in the last year.

The top rated The Pat Kenny Show retains its position as the most listened to show on commercial radio with 241,000 listeners tuning in daily.

98FM

98FM delivered increases on all key audience metrics including a 0.7% increase on Market Share to 5.5%.

5,000 more people now start their day with 98FM’s Big Breakfast with Rebecca and Brendan, reaching 42,000 listeners. Brian Dowling and Suzanne Kane also increased audience by 5,000  to 38,000.

SPIN1038

SPIN 1038 recorded a daily reach of 143,000 in Dublin and continues to lead in 15-34 year olds. SPIN1038’s flagship breakfast show Fully Charged with Emma, Dave and Aisling, is up 11,000 in the last year to an audience of 59,000.

SPIN South West 

SPIN South West leads in the region with 150,000 listeners each week. Fully Charged with Ed and Valerie stands at 30,000 listeners while SPIN Hits with Michaela Hayes has increased audience to 38,000.

Red FM

Red FM has recorded an impressive set of results and continues to dominate the Cork market, with a share of 20.7% and a weekly reach of 174,000.

The biggest commercial radio show in Cork is the top-rated mid-morning The Neil Prendeville Show with 78,000 listeners (up 3,000).

Red FM Breakfast with KC reaches 50,000 listeners while Ciara Revins lunchtime show reaches 64,000 listeners.

Beat

The newest addition to the Bauer Media Audio Ireland portfolio holds a 14.6% market share in the South East, up .6 % since the last results. Beat Breakfast now stands at 50,000 listeners (up 3,000) while Beat Drive now attracts an audience of 44,000.

iRadio

 Broadcasting to fifteen counties and with a weekly reach of 344,000, iRadio now holds an 8.1% market share, up 1% over the last year. While Dave and Fionnuala have recorded an audience of 83,000, up 9,000 in the last year.
