Hosted by Nules Ní Chlerigh, a former nurse who started recording Ireland Crimes and Mysteries from a converted milking parlour. What began as a passion project has grown into one of Ireland’s biggest true crime podcasts, with millions of downloads and a regular place in the Top 10 of Apple’s Irish true crime charts.

Tuesday, 14th October: GoLoud, the home of Irish podcasting is delighted to announce that Ireland, Crimes and Mysteries has joined the family!

Host Nules has always been fascinated by crime and justice, and noticed many Irish stories weren’t being told or if they were, they were sensationalised and often lost sight of the victim. It was important to her to create something different: a space where Irish cases, solved and unsolved, could be told with empathy and respect. That’s how Ireland Crimes and Mysteries was born.

What Makes the Podcast Unique

The focus of each podcast is always on the victim and their families. Each episode is written in a storytelling, empathetic way, avoiding sensationalism. Nules also highlights Garda tip lines and encourages awareness, so listeners can help if they can as well as feel part of remembering and keeping cases alive. That approach has really connected with audiences, both in Ireland and internationally.

Some of the cases covered in the podcast include –

Shergar (Kildare) : The infamous 1983 kidnapping of the champion racehorse that remains one of Ireland’s greatest unsolved mysteries.

Bridget Cleary (Tipperary) : The tragic 1895 case of a young woman burned to death by her husband, often referred to as “the last witch burned in Ireland.”

Deirdre Jacob : One of Ireland’s most high-profile missing person cases; she disappeared in 1998 and the case remains unsolved.

Elaine O’Hara (Dublin): Her 2012 murder exposed disturbing details about online exploitation and led to Ireland’s first conviction for capital murder without a body.

Irene White (Dundalk) : A mother of three brutally murdered in her home in 2005; a case that spanned years before justice was delivered.

Noah Donohoe (Belfast) : The 14-year-old schoolboy whose 2020 disappearance and death continues to prompt calls for answers and accountability.

Inga Hauser (Antrim) : A young German tourist murdered in Northern Ireland in 1988; a case that still resonates across the island.

Manuela Riedo (Galway) : The Swiss student brutally killed in 2007; her case shocked Ireland and led to her killer who was out on bail at the time being brought to justice.
