5 STARS FOR TODAY FM AS ALL PRIME-TIME PRESENTERS SEE RISE IN LISTENERSHIP FIGURES IN LATEST JNLR RESULTS

IAN DEMPSEY, DAVE MOORE, LOUISE CANTILLON, RAY FOLEY AND MATT COOPER ALL GROW THEIR NATIONAL AUDIENCE IN LATEST BOOK

 Thursday, 7th August: The latest JNLR listenership figures for the 12 months to the end of June 2025 (July ’24 – June ’25) have been released, reporting that 3.97 million adults are tuning into Irish radio every week.

Today FM now entertains a weekly audience of 928,000 listeners (+14,000 BoB) as it continues to be Ireland’s most listened to commercial radio station. Today FM also saw massive increases in its daily reach figure, which now stands at 499,000 (+33,000 BoB) and a market share of 8.4% (+0.4% BoB).

Today FM’s rise in figures kicks off first thing in the morning with The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show (06:00-09:00), recording an audience of 213,000 listeners (+10,000 BoB). An incredible result for Iano and his team as he continues to be the most listened to timeslot on Today FM.

Commenting on today’s results, Ian Dempsey said:

Dave Moore on Today FM (09:00-12:00) is also on the rise as he entertains a mid-morning audience of 198,000 listeners (+5,000 BoB). The results come as Dave interviewed Ed Sheeran at his recent surprise pop up performance at the Fleadh in Wexford.

It was a great JNLR result for Today FM’s lunchtime Gaeilgeoir Louise Cantillon, (12:00-14:00) as she now entertains an audience of 119,000 (+12,000 BoB). Louise has had a busy summer schedule with live lunchtime shows at the Galway Races and Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.

Commenting on her rise in listenership, Louise Cantillon said:

“I am so grateful to every single person that decides to spend their lunchtime with me! Ar bís agus an a bhuíoch. “

Ray Foley  (14:00 – 16:30) also saw increased listenership as he grew his audience to 159,000 listeners (+6,000 BoB). 

But it is Matt Cooper that will have the biggest bragging rights in Today FM HQ as The Last Word (16:30-19:00) increased its audience to 181,000, almost 20,000  (+18,000) since the last quarterly report.

Weekend shows on Today FM had a lot to shout about too. Weekend Breakfast with Alison Curtis now entertains an audience of 186,000  (+9,000 BoB) on her Saturday show. KC on Today FM saw his Saturday show (14:00-18:00) reach 148,000 listeners (+7,000 YoY) , Ben Murray saw his Saturday show (11:00–14:00) grow to 180,000 (+9,000 BoB) and Dara Quilty saw his Sunday show grow to 152,000 listeners (+8,000 YoY).

Today FM has just announced the return of its now famous Sound Garden to Electric Picnic 2025, with its biggest stage and show yet. It’s also been Oasis mania on Today FM with the station launching its very own digital station Oasis FM along with a jam packed schedule of activity for the gig of the decade taking place on Saturday August 16th.
