GOLOUD LAUNCHES ‘THEY MESS YOU UP’ PODCAST – HOSTED BY DR CIARA KELLY AND DR RICHARD HOGAN

GoLoud, the home of Irish podcasting is delighted to announce the return of They Mess You Up, hosted by family doctor and broadcaster, Dr Ciara Kelly and family psychotherapist and author, Dr Richard Hogan.

Once an independent production, now back for its second season, Go Loud has partnered with Ciara and Richard to take the podcast to the next level.

They Mess You Up is a weekly, straight-talking podcast that unpacks messy, everyday relationship and mental-health issues with a mix of clinical perspective, personal anecdotes and wry, no-nonsense banter. The pair cover topics from affairs, jealousy and people-pleasing to anxiety, parenting and dating after separation, with practical takeaways framed by their professional experience. It’s a pragmatic guide to why people hurt each other (and themselves), aimed at those who want a mix of clinical insight and personal, relatable experiences.

Host Dr Ciara Kelly said: “We are back! I’m delighted to get into the studio once again with Richard for They Mess You Up. This podcast means a lot to me. It allows us to get the meat off the bones about everything that makes life messy and interesting. I hope listeners will get something really useful from it but also enjoy the laughs and the mischief too.”

Host Dr Richard Hogan said: “Life is messy and there’s no way around that, you have to go through it. Between myself and Ciara, we love being able to offer useful advice on everything from sex and relationships to family dramas and grief. We’ve partnered with GoLoud to bring back They Mess You Up and I’m looking forward to sharing our chats with you every week.”

About Ciara Kelly

Dr Ciara Kelly is a well-known Irish broadcaster, former GP, and journalist who has carved out a major media presence over the last 15 years. Originally trained as a medical doctor, she practiced general medicine for many years. Her media journey took off gradually: writing columns for the Sunday Independent, moving into television and radio – including as a medical expert on shows such as Operation Transformation and Doctors on Call – and eventually abandoning active medical practice to focus full-time on broadcasting. Today, Ciara Kelly co-presents the weekday breakfast show on Newstalk, bringing news, current affairs and commentary to a broad Irish audience. Alongside radio, she continues to write, offering a blend of medical insight, journalism and opinion — traits that make her a distinctive, often provocative voice in Irish media.
