Communicorp Media Radio Stations Join Forces For #FormalFriday 970 485 Bauer Media Audio Ireland

This Friday (24th April) , Ireland’s biggest radio stations are joining forces to raise money to support our frontline heroes, as they continue to tackle the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Today FM, Newstalk, 98FM, SPIN 1038, SPIN South West and Off The Ball are calling on friends, families, colleagues and businesses across Ireland to get involved and dress up, instead of dressing down, this Friday. Then, simply post a picture on social media using #FormalFriday and donate to a very worthy cause. Whether you work from home in your Debs dress, tackle the garden in your wedding suit, or have a conference call in your fanciest going-out look, there’s just one rule: if you dress up, you donate.

The charities that will benefit from #FormalFriday include, Mater Foundation: Supporting Frontline Staff in The Fight Against Covid-19, Beaumont Heroes Appeal, Together With Our Heroes: Temple Street and CMRF Crumlin, Mercy Hospital Foundation, Cork, University Hospital Limerick, St James’s Hospital Foundation, Cork University Hospital Charity and Feed The Heroes. All funds raised will be split evenly among the chosen charities.

Cian O’Flaherty, Co-Founder of Feed The Heroes said:

“Feed The Heroes are delighted to be part of Formal Friday. These donations allow us to keep delivering meals to frontline responders across the country. Our meals ensure that teams working 12 to 14 hours in difficult environments are fueled for the fight as we face down this virus. The meals aren’t just nutrition, they are a link to the rest of us who remain at home. They express our gratitude, our solidarity and support for the risks they face day in and day out.”

Chief Executive of the Children’s Health Foundation, Denise Fitzgerald said:

“In these unprecedented times we are asking the public to support the patients and staff in CHI children’s hospitals, by helping us provide the support they and their families need at this time. Public support has never been as important as it is now to ensure we can continue to support the on-going work in CHI at Crumlin, Temple Street and Connolly. Your donation will be put to work where it is most urgently needed in all our children’s hospitals. By supporting this appeal, we can help our heroes to keep providing world-class care to Ireland’s sickest children.”

Tune into Today FM, Newstalk, 98FM, SPIN 1038, SPIN South West and Off The Ball this Friday to follow #FormalFriday progress and for more information and donations, go to www.formalfriday.ie
