Friday, 7th October 2022: Bauer Media Audio Ireland swept the boards at the 2022 IMRO Radio Awards earlier this evening, scooping an impressive tally of 33 awards across Newstalk, Today FM, 98FM and SPIN.
Bauer Media Audio Ireland was the highest performing radio group on the night picking up 11 Gold awards including National Station of the Year for Today FM, Current Affairs Programme for The Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk, Entertainment Inserts for Gift Grub on Today FM and Best Newcomer for Mandy Johnston on Newstalk.
Awards won by Bauer Media Audio Ireland span a wide range of categories, including Music, News, Current Affairs, Sport, Entertainment and speech.
Other big winners for the group at tonight’s first in person event for three years include Music and Entertainment Presenter Dermot Whelan, Sports Broadcaster of the year Nathan Murphy and Station Imaging for SPIN 1038.
In the much-coveted National Station of the Year category, Today FM won Gold.
The IMRO Radio Awards celebrate the best in Irish radio broadcasting and recognise those who have made contributions over the previous year. The event, celebrating its 22nd anniversary was held in the Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny hosted by Today FM’s Dermot Whelan.
